City & Guilds has over 130 years of experience in vocational education, having been created in response to the needs of business to develop a pipeline of well-trained talent. They have continually built on that heritage to create vocational services that continue to meet the changing needs of business in the UK and around the world.
They work with over 10,000 centres worldwide and almost 2 million individuals trust City & Guilds with their futures every year.
uRisk works with UKAS accredited laboratories for water testing including legionella sampling and analysis. UKAS is appointed as the national accreditation body by the Accreditation Regulation 2009 (S.I No 3155/2009) and the EU Regulation (EC) 765/2008 and operates under a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government through the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.
UKAS has well-established, transparent and repeatable assessment procedures applicable to all forms of conformity assessment, and so the benefits of collaborating with UKAS can:
- Reduce the need for central and local government to employ their own specialist assessment personnel. Accreditation provides the assurance for Government to rely on commercial providers of evaluation and inspection services.
- Build business and public trust
- Provide an alternative to Regulation whilst ensuring the reliability of activities that have the potential to impact on public confidence, health and safety or the environment.
- Enable innovation in the private and public sectors
The Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS Check) Approved
All uRisk employees under go the DBS check a service provided by the government to help support evidence to you and your organisation that our team are suitable to undertaken work in your environment.
The Disclosure and Barring Service helps employers make safer recruitment decisions each year by processing and issuing DBS checks for England, Wales, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man. DBS also maintains the adults’ and children’s Barred Lists and makes considered decisions as to whether an individual should be included on one or both of these lists and barred from engaging in regulated activity.
Safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do at the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The work we do helps to prevent unsuitable people from working with vulnerable groups, including children.
Legionella Control Association (LCA) Applied
In addition to our commitments to providing the best Legionella and Water Hygiene Services uRisk is beginning the application process to become an LCA approved contractor in addition to our pre-existing accreditations with the Water Management Society, City & Guilds Qualifications and Health and Safety Accreditations with Safe Contractor and Construction Online.
The Legionella Control Association (LCA) is a voluntary organisation whose membership comprises providers of services and products concerned with the control of legionella bacteria in water systems. The primary aim is to keep water systems safe and minimise the risk of cases of Legionnaires’ disease caused by poorly maintained systems.
The LCA was founded in 1999 by the British Association for Chemical Specialities (BACS) and the Water Management Society (WMSoc). A Recommended Code of Conduct for Service Providers concerned with controlling the risk of legionella was formulated and launched. Companies and individuals were invited to pledge to a number of commitments making up the Code of Conduct with the specific objective of raising standards in the control of legionella bacteria in water systems.
Constructionline manages the pre-qualification process on behalf of buyers, validating all members against PAS91 criteria and beyond. All accreditations are easily visible and searchable on the platform, so you can quickly and confidently select construction partners that meet your needs. In using the Constructionline platform you’ll simplify your search, validation and purchasing decision process, improving your efficiency whilst remaining compliant.
