This legionella awareness online training course is aimed to help duty holders and responsible persons to better understand their legal responsibilities and the health and safety risks from legionnaires disease.
Legionella has the potential to cause serious harm to health if not monitored and controlled correctly. All water systems require a legionella risk assessment and therefore all duty holders and responsible persons with water systems should undertake a legionella awareness course.
This course will cover areas such as legal requirements, medical and legionella background, and monitoring requirements.
Who should take this legionella awareness online training course?
This course is suitable for duty holders and responsible persons for health and safety of buildings with water systems of any size. This includes employers, self-employe and people who control water systems.
Landlords also have an obligation to be aware of the dangers of legionella and must undertake a legionella risk assessment to identify the risks from legionella.
This course is written in accordance with the Approved Code of Practice L8 (HSG 274) and covers areas necessary in detail through the modules.
On successful completion of this course will will receive a legionella awareness online training course certificate via email the same working day as completed. This can be used to provide evidence for compliance and auditing.

This certificate does not have an expiry date. However, based on industry best practice guidelines, the recommended renewal period for this training is 2 years.
