Cadmium Analysis

Cadmium is a rare metallic element found in small deposits across the world. It is usually found in combination with other elements, typically copper, zinc, and lead. It has a number of uses, most commonly as a pigment used in paint and in jewellery. Cadmium is one of the waste products of battery production, meaning there can sometimes be large amounts found in industrial waste.

Short-term exposure to high cadmium levels can cause symptoms such as coughing, chest pain, vomiting and diarrhoea. Things can be worse with long-term exposure which causes lung damage, kidney disease and convulsions. Exposure to lower levels of cadmium for a long period of time can cause bones to become fragile.

Cadmium testing identifies what levels of cadmium are present in your drinking water. It is essential in order to help your business comply with a number of international regulations.
