How to Find the Best Legionella Training Courses

Feb 13, 2023 | Blog

Managing the risks from legionella is an important element of the health and safety responsibilities of employers, landlords and facilities managers. Like many specialist companies, we are happy to take over aspects of your legionella risk assessment and legionella water testing

Accredited legionella training courses

The seriousness of the risks caused by the legionella bacteria make it vital that, as a duty holder or responsible person, you know as much as possible about it. Accredited legionella training courses are a great way of ensuring you have the relevant understanding of the risks and of gaining the knowledge you need to manage them safely in order to fulfil your organisation’s legal responsibilities.

Classroom or online learning

We appreciate that everyone learns differently, which is why we offer a classroom-based legionella training course as well as an online legionella training course. Both courses are in accordance with the Approved Code of Practice L8 (HSG 274) and cover all aspects of legionella bacteria control in water systems.

The aim of our legionella training courses is to give you a good working knowledge of the biological and medical aspects of legionella and Legionnaires’ disease, alongside an understanding of your responsibilities which include identifying risks, controlling and managing the legionella bacteria, the need to monitor and review the health and safety measures you take, and the importance of good record keeping.

If you prefer virtual learning, find it difficult to have a day away from your workplace, have a limited budget, or just want to find out the essentials, our online training course covers all the basics you need to be aware of when it comes to legionella. It can be completed in as little as one or two hours.

Our one-day classroom-based course has been designed to give a more detailed insight into legionella risk management, with practical and theory-based training. You will join a small group of learners so you get as much time as you need with your instructor.

You will be tested after completion of our online or in-person courses. On successful completion of the course, we will issue you with a certificate. Both our courses are CPD accredited.

Responsible person training

Our legionella training courses are designed to give you an awareness of legionella so you can carry out your duties as a responsible person. It is important to note that doing the courses will not make you eligible to undertake the duties of a competent person – only a competent person is trained to undertake legionella risk assessments, remedial works, and monitoring tasks. If you would like to talk to us about legionella risk assessments, water testing, legionella monitoring or any of our other services, please get in touch
